Messages from Ed's Beloved Wife Raquel ("Raqui")
From 2022
December 15, 2022

Tim Deal just published his book "DEFENDERS OF THE ROCK" which features my husband, Col. Edwin Price Ramsey, 26th Cavalry PS as one of 24 heroes of WWII in the Philippines. He asked me to write the FOREWORD to the book and I am enclosing the PDF as it is not easily readable in the page of the book. I was honored to do so.

October 26, 2022 - Remembering Paul Ramirez

Dear Family,

On this day, I lost my one and only loving brother who was so close to me since we were kids. In fact, my sweetest memories of him are in these photos at home with our cats, minin and minina and wearing cowboy outfits and going to school at the University of Santo Tomas in Manila. I am including the pictures below.

Christmas was Paul's special time of year and we had beautiful Christmas gatherings as a family at home and then I tried to keep those traditions wherever we traveled with Ed. Ed enjoyed them with us too.

Finally, New Year's Eve at the Coronado Hotel in 2014 and our time at the Hale Koa Hotel New YEAR'S Eve of 2018 with you all.
I am enclosing all those photos.

Paul will remain in my Heart❤ and Mind Forever!

Love and prayers,
Raqui❤

REMEMBERING ED at Arlington National Cemetery

Dear Family and Friends,

Nine years have passed since we buried Ed at ARLINGTON NATIONAL CEMETERY to join his comrades-in-arms at the most unforgettable moment of my life.
I am so grateful to you all for joining me at that difficult time and for speaking about my darling Ed during the CELEBRATION OF HIS LIFE. I treasure all of your words.

I am sending as attachments photos of the Ceremony at Arlington.

I chose the Tribute given to him by the Cavalry Troopers "WE REMEMBER THEM" and the PSHS.

I chose the Hymn from Isaiah 40:31
"ON EAGLE'S WINGS"
by Maureen MacGovern

 ON EAGLE'S WINGS

V You who dwell in the shelter of the Lord,
who abide in His shadow for life,
Say to the Lord" My Refuge,
My Rock in whom I trust!"

R: And he will raise you up on Eagle's wings
Bear you on the Breath of Dawn
Make you to shine like the sun,
And hold you in the palm of His hand.

V. The snare of the fowler will never capture you
And famine will bring you no fear:
     Under His wings your refuge,
     His faithfulness, your shield.
Repeat Refrain

 V. You need not fear the terror of the night,
      Nor the arrow that flies by day;
      Though thousands fly around you,
Near you, it shall not come.
Repeat Refrain

 V.  For to His angels He's given a command
      To guard you in all of your ways;
Upon their hands they will bear you up
Lest you dash your foot against a stone
Repeat Refrain
And Hold you, hold you in the Palm of His hand

So as we face the uncertainty and the chaos in the world, we place our FAITH AND HOPE IN God's Hands.

Thank you for the Love and support you gave me during those trying times and continue to do so as I continue my journey in life.

Love and prayers,
Raqui

Remembering Ed on his Birthday - May 9, 2022

Dear Family & Friends,

There are so many moments that I want to capture in my wonderful life with Ed and share with you as I remember him on his Birthday.

I am including here the times he came with me as I organized and anchored the MISS HISPANIDAD Competition sponsored by the MISS HISPANIDAD CULTURAL, EDUCATIONAL AND RESEARCH FOUNDATION in The Philippines as Executive Director.

I am also including his autograph in my Guest Book which tells you why I chose his favorite song "YOU LIGHT UP MY LIFE" by Debby Boone to remember him by.

                      YOU LIGHT UP MY LIFE

                      So many nights
                      I'd sit by my window
                      Waiting for someone
                      To sing me his song
                      So many dreams
                      I'd kept deep inside me
                      Alone in the dark
                      But now you've come along

                       And You
                       Light up my life
                       You give me hope
                       To carry on
                       You light up my days
And fill my nights with song

                       Rolling at Sea
                       Adrift in the waters
                       Could it be finally
                       I'm turning for home?
                       Finally a chance
To say "hey I Love you"
                       Never again
                       To be all alone

Repeat verse:  And You...

                      It can't be wrong
                      When it feels so right
                      'Cause you
                      YOU LIGHT UP MY LIFE

I also remember the many military events we attended together like the Army Ball in 1992. I am so proud of his service to our nation.

I will always keep him in my ❤ and in my mind as I know he will stay beside me forever. We will meet again...

All my love,
Raqui❤

Ed's Ninth Anniversary

Dear Family & Friends,

On this day, Ed's 9th Anniversary, I am sending you the feature story in the American Legion magazine "THE GRAND OLD MAN OF CAVALRY" which describes Ed's incredible courage against all odds and his perseverance to "NEVER SURRENDER" as seen in his documentary which is based on his book, "Lieutenant Ramsey's War."

I chose the song " THE IMPOSSIBLE DREAM" By Josh Groban which exemplifies his spirit as he faced the enemy and disease and will continue to inspire everyone to follow their dreams no matter how challenging they may seem at the moment.

             THE IMPOSSIBLE DREAM

To Dream the Impossible Dream
To fight the unbeatable foe
To bear with unbearable sorrow
And to run where the Brave dare not go

To right the unrightable wrong
And to love pure and chaste from afar
To try when your arms are too weary
To reach the unreachable star

This is my quest
To follow that star
No matter how hopeless
No matter how far

To fight for the right
Without question or pause
To be willing to march, march into Hell
For that Heavenly cause

And I know if I'll only be true
To this glorious quest
That my heart will lie peaceful and calm
When I'm laid to my rest

And the world will be better for this
That one man, scorned & courage with scars
Still strove with his last ounce of courage

To reach the unreachable
The unreachable
The Unreachable Star

So my dear ones always dream the Impossible Dream
and be hopeful as you face adversity in your lives
just like Ed who fought with his comrades
and NEVER SURRENDERED!

Thank you for the love and support you gave me
at the most difficult time of my life.

Love and prayers,
Raqui

Daniel Ramirez' Picture

Raqui would like to share this wonderful tribute that Daniel made for his father Paul, Raqui's brother, who passed away recently.
