Raqui's annual Christmas letter may be downloaded here.

Raqui contributed a "recognition brick" to the main entrance way of the Collins & Katz Family YMCA in Los Angeles.  The brick carries a dedication to Ed who worked out in the gym everyday for 30 years.  Raqui says, "It will always be a reminder of how he gave time to stay healthy and enjoyed the camaraderie of Dick Greenblatt and others who frequented the place."

In a recent letter to Robert Benson of Supermoon Press, Raqui congratulated him on the recent publication of "Yarnswoggle, Volume 1", to which she has contributed a short story, and the book's subsequent availability on Amazon:
Dear Robert,

June 23, 2018

Dear Family & Friends,

On the 5th Anniversary of Ed's burial at Arlington National Cemetery, June 28, 2018, I am sending you my message and song as well as photos taken by my brother, Paul and Adriana who visited him on their anniversary weekend.

They also toured The Women's Memorial and took photos of Nadine's picture and Memorial. I am writing Nadine's story: "TAKING FLIGHT: THE NADINE RAMSEY STORY" with my team and we are making good progress as I had promised Ed when I retired from BHHS.

Thanks for always being beside me as I miss my Honey-Bunny very much.
I know he is watching over me daily.

Love and prayers,

Raqui

Remembering Ed on His Birthday - May 9, 2018

March 3, 2018

Dear Family & Friends,

Time heals all wounds is said by many,
but it does not apply to me;
as I think of Ed on his Fifth Anniversary,
It is harder than it can be, as it makes me sad and lonely
not to hear his voice and I miss him more.

So I try to remember the good times we had together,
The anniversaries at the Hale Koa Hotel in Hawaii
The cruise on the Tahitian Princess to Greenland and Iceland
To Scotland and Ireland, his ancestry...
The laughs we had at every military and school reunion
with Troopers and friends and parties with family like you.
the phone calls at Noon in school,
and the surprises he brought me as he walked in the door

So I dedicate to him this song from our favorite chrooner, Frank Sinatra

                       YOU WILL BE MY MUSIC

When all the songs are out of tune,
                 and all the rhymes ring so untrue;
When I don;t find the words to say
                 The Thoughts I long to bring to you;
                  When I hear lonely singers
Who are just as lost as me
                  Making noise, not melody

                    You will be my Music
                    You will be my Song
                    You will be my Music,
I can't wait any longer if I'm wrong.

I'll never find the song to tell me
All the things I need to say
And I'm afraid as time goes by
              That someday soon you'll go away;
And I'll be lost in trying
                      For songs I'll never sing,
                      Wanting you is everything;

                     You will be my Music.
                     You will be my Song.
                     You will be my Music,
I can't wait any longer if I'm wrong
I can't wait any longer for my Song.

                     You will be my Song
And there is nothing between "YOU and Me"
As You said "Goodbye" at three AM and Eternity.

i am attaching two photos of our memories; our 30th wedding anniversary at the Hale Koa Hotel in Honolulu on Dec. 22 from our Ocean View Room and our cruise on the Tahitian Princess to the North Atlantic, Greenland and Iceland in Summer of 2009. Such good times and laughter and fun!

Thanks for your constant love and support as I continue my journey without my Love and I pray God gives me the strength to carry on without him.

Forever grateful to have you all by my side,

Raqui

Happy Memorial Day!  The Vanilla Fire Production Team placed a wreath at Ed's grave site this morning. It really touched me beyond words especially with the words on the ribbon. "MY HONEY BUNNY."

Steve Meek, who was interviewed in Never Surrender, wrote a wonderful poem for Memorial Day in 2011.  Please click the image below for a full-size rendition.

Read the press release by Rowman & Littlefield on the newly released book "Doomed Horse Soldiers of Bataan:The Incredible Stand of the 26th Cavalry" by Raymond Woolfe. The Introduction is written by Col. Edwin P. Ramsey, 26th Cavalry PS.  The book itself is available on Amazon.com.

Dear Family & Friends,

HAPPY MOTHERS DAY To You All!  I think of Nelle, Ed's mother who was a great influence on his life enrolling him in the Oklahoma Military Academy and preventing him as Ed says " from becoming a juvenile delinquent." and the rest is history...

So tomorrow, as we celebrate Ed's 99th birthday, I would like to share a birthday card as an attachment, written by Tony Chanco, one of his men on May 9, 1945 as he was  recuperating from the USAFEE BASE HOSPITAL in Meycawayan, Bulacan in the Philippines. There is also a greeting from all the Surgeons of the hospital which really touched me deeply as they saved his life.

So I wrote this Anachronistic Poem to best describe my darling Ed:

E- Enduring, the kind of LOVE we have

D- Daring, his valor & strength as he persevered through Hell

W- Wise, always chose the right way no matter how difficult it was
and even when he made mistakes, he recognized his fallibility

I- Intrepid, his story in "Lieutenent Ramsey's War" tells it all

N- Never gave up in spite of adversity; he never surrendered to the enemy

A perfect title for his documentary: "NEVER SURRENDER: THE ED RAMSEY STORY."

I chose the song by Frank Sinatra and written by Cole Porter, "NIGHT & DAY."
to express how much I miss him daily.

                                              NIGHT AND DAY

LIke the beat, beat, beat of the tom tom
                            When the jungle shadows fall
Like the tick, tick, tock of the stately clock
As it stands against the wall
Like the drip, drip, drip of the rain drops
                            When the summer showers through
A voice within me keeps repeating
                            YOU, YOU, YOU

Night and day you are the one
Only you beneath the moon or under the sun
Whether near to me or far, it's no matter darling
                            Where you are
                             I think of you

Day and night, night and day
Why is it so that this longing for you
                            Follows where ever I go
                            In the stormy tropic moon
or the silence of my lonely room
                            I think of you

Night and day, day and night
Under the hide of me, there's an Oh such a hungry yearning
                           burningi inside of me
And this torment won't be through
Till you let me spend my life making love to you
Day and night, Night and Day

That's my dream and it only become a reality when I dream of him
I will always keep him in my heart and mind and say

                            HAPPY BIRTHDAY My LOVE!

With love and prayers,
Raqui
